How to Turn Boring Scenes into Cinematic Videos
Which is more captivating to your viewers?
Option A: Tell them in words like this…
“I think I am at my most creative when I am in the kitchen.
So I love to do my work there.
I like to be in a place that is bright, airy and inspiring.”
Option B: Show them a video like this one…
The choice is obvious. You see the power of video.
We are in the era of video.
Soon, video is going to be mainstream content on the internet.
And if you are still in the text mode, you’re going to lose out.
Those with video are going to have the edge over you.
These days, people don’t read as much as before.
They have short attention span.
They get bored very fast.
Video is the best way to capture their attention.
The writing is on the wall.
Online courses in Udemy is in video.
Marketers are promoting their business with webinars.
Video sales letter converts better.
FB Live gets more exposure
Blogging is old school. Vlogging is the trend now.
The 2nd most visited site is Youtube, a video site
Like many of you, I resist the change.
As a writer living in the world of words, I was uncomfortable about doing video.
But I recognise that change in inevitable.
Change or die.
Pick your choice.
I choose to change.
So beginning last year, I went to the video mountain and seek knowledge from the video experts.
I learn about film making from Werner Herzog in Masterclass
I learn vlogging from Sujimy
I learn video confidence from Niamh Arthur in her 30-day ignite challenge and Sandy TS in her Vlogging Success group.
I first heard about B-Roll from Johari Said, the video storyteller. I was encouraged by Azlin Malik, the D’Rock of Suria.
I learn video editing with Filmora from Carmen Lin.
I caught the video fever.
I founded 2 free Facebook groups, namely ‘video Marketing with sam‘ and ‘Filmora Users group‘.
I shared my video knowledge with a small tribe at https://videomasterywithsam.com
I am betting there will be a huge demand for video content. The money is in video content creation.
If you know how to create good video content, you won’t starve. I have a good friend who is looking for good video creators to join his team.
Yes, there are jobs available.
That’s why I am focusing on video mastery.
If you want to start from scratch, master video.
if you are shy or introverted, be a video producer.
When you master video, you will be able to produce video content for your business. You know it is very costly to outsource the work.
You’ll be able to make extra income creating videos for your clients.
If you are thinking of a career switch, go for a job that will last you for many more good years. Be a video content creator.
How?
First, develop a love for video. When you do what you love, you turn your work into play.
Second, be good at creating the small components, eg a 12-second video of a single scene, just like the one you had watched earlier. Once you become good, stack about 5 scenes to create a 1-minute video.
Join me on 6 April (Fri) 7pm to 10pm in a live workshop.
I will show you lots of examples of videos of how boring scenes can be cinematic.
I will give a commentary and analysis of how it is done behind the scene.
You will discover the techniques used to create cinematic videos.
I promise you will walk away from the workshop with a new way of looking at life.
When I first discovered the joy of photography, I look at the world in a different way through the lens.
I see colors, patterns, nature, beauty and emotions.
