How It Works

You can share your story in whatever way feels natural to you. For example:

• Send me a draft you’ve already written
• Record yourself telling the story (audio or video)
• Or simply talk to me over Zoom

Then I’ll take your words and:

1. Rewrite your story into a clean manuscript (you’ll get two versions—one in your natural voice, and one in a more literary, dramatic style)
2. You review and request one round of edits
3. I format the final version into a simple, beautiful PDF as an ebook
4. I design a minimalist book cover with your name and the line “As told to Sam Choo”
5. I write a short blurb (like the ones you see on book back covers)

Because this is part of my portfolio-building project, there are just two conditions:

1. The book cover will include the line: “As told to Sam Choo.”
2.  I may publish the memoir (PDF + cover) on my website for free public download.

Q1. What kinds of stories can I write about?
Anything that mattered to you. Some ideas:

• A goodbye you never forgot
• A turning point that changed how you saw the world
• A childhood memory that still makes you smile—or ache
• A person who shaped who you are
• A mistake you learned from
• A moment you didn’t think you’d survive… but did

It doesn’t need to be dramatic. It just needs to be true.

Q2. How long will it take?
Usually within 1 week from the time you send me your story to the finished PDF and cover.

Q3. Do I need to be a good writer?
Absolutely not.
You just need memories and honesty. I’ll handle the writing.

Q4. Is it private?
You choose what to share.
You can use a pen name.
You have the final say before anything is published.
